A visit from a group of 4th graders, eager to do community service and have some fun, spiced things up a bit recently for residents and staff at Kesslerwood Place, an assisted senior living center here in Millersville.
The Horizon Christian School students cleaned common areas and the outdoor patio, and spent time with residents working on fall crafts, playing games, talking and laughing, and getting to know one another. The residents commented on how much fun they had and how mature the kids were.
Volunteers with Millersville at Fall Creek Valley, Inc., set it all up with great help from the staff at Horizon and at Kesslerwood Place. Special thanks to Dr. Amy Schau Hammes, who leads our Schools initiative, and Jalene Huff, events coordinator at Kesslerwood Place.
